Here's a killer old 60's Honda CB160. I picked this up from a farmer in Smithsburg, MD for a modest price. It doesn't run and needs a good deal of work, but it has compression and transmission seems OK... has a fair amount of exterior rust, but not horrible. The tank is pretty rusted out though. Needs the usual... oil change, filters, carbs & petcock cleaned, new fuel lines, new battery, one side cover, new brake lever, possibly tires. Oh yeah, and a title. : \
Still has the original tool kit.
In spite of it's nearly left for dead condition, I still think it's looks awesome as I really dig the vintage Hondas. I hope to have fun bringing it back to life.

It's true, Dan. I have my work cut out for me though. Paid $300... Hopefully it was worth it. I just hope MD doesn't make it next to impossible for me to get a title.
I had one of these when I was a teenager.Drove it through the woods as well as the road.Funny thing is my Mom paid $300 for it.It only had about 3000 miles on it and was in perfect condition.I kept it in good shade despite riding through the woods.It was a tank.Mine was blue and had both exhaust pipes coming up the left side together.It was a 1968 CB160 also.Unfortunately when she sold the house in the mid 80s it was left behind.I kick myself for not finding a place to store it.
Sounds like yours was a CL160 (high pipes) - Made for road AND trail.
Mine was strictly a street bike and the title and owners manual both were for a CB160.Found this link that may explain it.This is identical to the one I had.Can't see the pipes but they obviously came together on the left side.Seems some dealers put a CL kit on the CBs.

I love those bikes , makes me think of my first bike, a 65 305 Superhawk. And like Hedgewalker, I ran it off road also, even jumping a few banks with it. But that high rear part of the tank was rough if you landed on the front wheel. I notice yours has a dent there. Have you got it runnin yet?
Bikenstein - It's still sitting up on a work bench at my uncle-in-law's. We got as far as taking off the carbs, tank (rusted to hell), fuel lines, etc and I got the carbs fairly clean. I purchased another tank, new (NOS) brake/throttle/clutch cable set, a new hex bolt set, and a battery. Still need tires and a couple other items. So far haven't spent too much, but mainly just need to get back over there to do the work. I'll post some more pictures once the next phase is done.

I look forward to seeing it. Don't polish it up too much, these older bikes should show some age in my opinion. Too many people over polish and over chrome them to a pristine condition. I don't even like that word. I could use that old tank. I've welded the bottoms in 'em before. I rebuild old bikes on a budget myself. BTW where did you get your cable set?
Finally got around to working a little on the bike last night. Replaced a couple of the cables (which I found on eBay - NOS), took off the old chain, put carbs back together, replaced front brake lever, bent right footpeg back into place, and removed miscellaneous cobwebs & debris. Don't worry, it'll maintain it's patina when I get done with it. Lots of work left to do.
Good to hear you're back on it. I found a Super Hawk in super nice original condition with some nos parts but I'm still negotiating. The motor is locked but there is no rust or corrosion at all. Keep up the good work.
