SET SIX SILVER TABLESPOONS
I found a nice set of 6 silver tablespoons with detailed raised 'DOUBLE TORCH & SHIELD' with a hanging garland decorative motif on the handles. The spoons are approximately 8" long and the bowls are 3" X 1 5/8". They are marked on the back with an 'S' in a diamond. I thought they were made by the SCHWEITZER SILVER CORP., of Brooklyn, NY who manufactured sterling flat and holloware, however, they are not marked as sterling so I'm not sure. Does anyone happen to recognize the mark? Any information, including the age of these spoons would be greatly appreciated
Were you ever able to locate any information about these spoons? I have a ladle in the same pattern with the same mark
Thanks!
No, I haven't learned anything more. Maybe Schweitzer Silver Corp. also made silver plate, because the mark is identical as the one in the book of American Silver Marks. Does your's say sterling on in?
No mine just has the S in the diamond
I have a meat fork with the same markings. Have you received any information on the Maker or if your spoons are silver?
Thanks,
