This chair was given to us by my wife's parents who used to have an antique store in Wyoming. Apparently this chair, as well as their other items, were too classy for that cowboy-oriented state. After we moved from a large adobe house in Colorado, back into a smaller house, this chair went into a storage locker. The gold paint needs touch-up work and the braid needs to be reattached in places, but is generally in good condition.
When trying to research the origins of this chair, either via eBay or books, I've been unsuccessful. Any ideas? Time period? Style?
