Old WWII Hartzell Airplane Propeller that has had it's tips cut off long ago from damage I'm sure. Not sure what plane it came off, it measures 5' and I feel it was 7'-8' before the tips were removed, center mount measures 9" wide and 6" deep.

Was told it came off a WW2 Bamboo Bomber.

I wonder if was cut off to modify for another plane. The reason I ask , is because, I was in a antique store yesterday that had the same type prop, cut off at the same angle.

These were only cut down when damaged, it wouldn't work right on a plane once it was cut down, just makes a good wall hanger now.

I am not that familiar with post WW1 wood propellers.

I know the WW1 era ones will have a set of numbers on them that makes an aircraft ID possible.

You may be able to confirm the aircraft based on the numbers on your prop.

All the info I could find was (According to Hartzell's employee historian, they do not have serial number information on their older wooden props available.) # 0n mine is 27972 and a Bamboo Bomber from WW2 had 92" Prop, If I was to add what would of been cut off this one, it would come out to about that measurement.

Also found out that the early cessna uc-78 bobcat (Bamboo Bomber) had wood prop and later went to metal.
