Hello - I'm trying to get more info on this vintage Coke cooler. Markings on the cooler include "Grandale Company, Ltd. Toronto" and "Kelvinator Built". We think it's in working condition, although obviously could use an upgrade.

Any ideas on the vintage, model number and value of this piece?

    Thank you!

looks like similar to an american Westinghouse WE-6 made from mid 1940's to the early 50's. Not overly valuable, but in the 500-700 range i believe.

Not a whole lot more, still well under a thousand. These type of machines aren't in that much of a demand due to the floor space they take up.

Hi Stu, that is the same as the one I restored. I would'nt restore this one though,it looks too good to mess with. I would give it a good cleaning, any blemishes to the paint can be removed with marine hull cleaner, then wax & buff! If it still works thats a bonus! I have a 6'one I'm stripping down to turn into a bar if you need any parts,as it is complete. pickrknows@yahoo.ca
Just as a sidebar, I paid $50 for this machine, and also for the 6' one,but both sellers needed rid of them as they do take up a lot of space. I think a working, orig. paint eg. such as yours is $1000 all day long, once it's cleaned up.I've seen them here at shows asking over $2000! Also, the ones that are already made into bars are $3000-5000.!! Check out this link for George's custom paint,he's in Lindsay,Ont. http://www.joeyl.com/blu_site/ ,he's been restoring these for years!

Thanks for the feedback - and the tip on George's. I might have to take a road trip!
