Treasure hunt begins:
After spending too much time on KIJIJI, a great site for treasure hunting on a rainy day, I spotted a new ad showing this ice chest sitting on the ground. Yes, I did get the gull wing top doors with it but No, I did not get the cap openner and cap catcher. I will be needing one.
Another person was asking for the cooler to be held for a week and the owner did not feel comfortable with that so he contacted the other person and decided to sell it to me right away whereas I was willing to buy it for cash.
I had three lawn mowers for repairs that I was willing to give away and to my discovery, the guy with the ice chest repairs them and offered to deduct a bit for the lawn mowers. So, I drove 2 hours, gave the mowers and eighty dollars for the chest. While I was there I got some other deals too.
Condition:
The chest appears to be wooden frame and metal clad. It needs repainting outside and the inside just needs a good cleanning I would say. The wooden frame underneath is visible and is very good. The small drain pipe is intact also. I can, with some help, clean and paint the outside red areas but to add the white after would be a problem for me. I am also looking for one of the door handles for the top. Some help or guidance with this would be great.
Questions:
Is this the original height or has it been lowered by cutting the legs off?
What type of cap openner and cap catcher should this ice chest have?
Any information or pictures would be greatly appreciated and thank you in advance.
This cooler is in Nova Scotia Canada.
I recently bought this same cooler, have you found out any additional information? I would love to find out more about this item.
Identical to mine that I just picked, except mine has long legs. I still don't know how old mine is. Missing the cap catcher on mine.
