One of the really nice things about collecting Victorian-era fairy lamps is the seemingly infinite variety of designs and glass types.
These four examples are all overshot glass blown into different shapes. Overshot glass is achieved by rolling a gather of glass over small glass particles, reheating the glass to melt the sharp edges and then blowing the gather to its final form. This provides a rough "sparkly" texture.
The two red fairy lamps are documented Clarke designs. The two blue fairy lamps may also be Clarke commissioned designs, but I have no documentation to verify the attribution. However, the lack of "air notches" suggests they may very well be Clarke commissioned designs.
All these examples are pyramid-size (2.25" base). c.1895
