I found this sign about 30 years ago and bought it for $2. It is a mind sobering relic of the real cold war where one push of a button could have sent the entire world into another war. This sign would have been nailed to the wall of a house in a neighborhood, probably someplace near the center of the block. Neighborhood kids would have been told that if they hear a civil defense siren, they were all supposed to run to that house. I was in grade school in the 1950's and remember all too well the practice drills we had. We had to duck under our school desks when a bell sounded. It was called duck and cover.
I have never seen another one like this. The sign is really heavy and stamped out of really heavy steel (not tin!) and is 7" wide x 15-1/2" high.
Yep, mighty scarce I would imagine. You may own the only one.
