Both are 4 x 6". Costumes are embroidered but I am unsure of the material used. Also the only markings on the back appear in the photo posted. Any help ID'ing these would be greatly appreciated.

Hello. I collect embroidered postcards; most of them are silk. Sorry that I can't help with the material. The original drawings are by Elsi Gumier, a very prolific drawer of these. Since they are both by Elsi, I would guess they are from the 1950's. Perhaps you can help me with a postcard I have. It is a black and white photo of a young girl wearing a quite long mantilla with a hand painted sash and lips. The word 'Circe' (sorceress) appears at the top. At the bottom left are the letters 'E' and 'R' in a circle with the word 'Madrid' underneath and 'S.970/2' at the bottom right. My guess is antique or perhaps victorian. I don't know how to send pictures, but if you want a picture perhaps my daughter will assist me in sending one. Best, Jackum32.
