Hi, After seeing a pottery lion earlier this week, I realized that I had a similiar item stored. My item is a horse that my mother found at a yard sale in Jacksonville, Florida around 15 years ago. It still had small amounts of dirt on the inside where it might have been used as a planter. There are no drain holes in the bottom, so I do not know how good it would have worked with plants in it. It is approximately 12 " long. It would really be interesting to know a little of the history behind this, and what people used them for. Thanks for looking !

No marks like my line? The coloring and texture and length is so similar??

I could not find any type of marking anywhere on the horse. I really expected to find some type after seeing how similiar they were. It seems that they are defintely made in the same style. I am going to keep looking for information, I will post anything I find. Thanks.

Hey gingerakesler, I am thinking there are several different animals somewhere out there like ours. I still have not found any information or any other examples of these out there... guess I will keep looking.
