Picked this up at an estate sale. I had read the book a few yrs. ago and thought this is a nice copy to add to my new ManCave book collection. It's a first edition, appears to have never been even read as there is NO wear whatsoever to the spine or any of the pages. The dust cover had been wrapped in plastic quite a long time ago, and is near perfect, save for a few tape marks on the unseen inside. I've seen a few of these for sale and two of the listings said no dustcover was made for this book. So that's something I'm curious about. The previous owner's wife had it sign for him in 65'. Not sure how this would affect the value, though its cool the author signed it. And while I didn't know this gentleman, my grandmother did as they were classmates. Once I realized what I had, I was pumped about my couple dollar last second purchase! Not to mention, the illustrations in this book are unbelievable!

I just found a second edition copy with plastic on the dust cover. I'm not a rare/valuable book collector, so I'm wondering is it common or possible the plastic on this is original?
