Flea market find . I belive it to be gold wash but has no markings to say for sure . It does have an oval stamp on the the back with T+H . The engraving is very well done and finely detailed I would like to know if anyone has ideas about its age or maker . I dont care about value would just like to know more about its history and age.
Prbably Victorian and a stamp of the maker. Let it test on gold that's what I can advise.
Thanks Agram.m I did a scratch test and it is gold .I am guessing it is not english because it lacks any other marks .
Can you do an acid test? In the Victorian Era there are made a lot of jewels without a stamp also in England.
No I dont have any acid sorry. I always thought the English were very strict about marking all there pieces ,so good info to know thanks .
I agraa, never heard of a scratching test for gold.
Well I was told you can lightly scratch it on unglazed porcelain and if it leaves a streak then that is gold . I was more interested in the age and where/when it was made . Thanks again for all your help.
Thankyou for all of your info AR8Jason would it be possible to give me a link where I can learn how to do the test with pins ?? I would like to learn properly and not cause any harm .
Thankyou very much for all you help :)
