not to sure on information.. I bought this car at a second hand store this past weekend.. the undercarriage says the person got it for Christmas in 1955 the car is a Modern toys and has patent no 27579 104210 100166 103627 The car is in really good condition wheels still move.. Not sure the exact age of the car, i was wondering if anyone could fill in the blanks for me? Also wondering the approximate value of the car..
Good looking car you got there. I did some reserach, and found that the car was made by TM Modern Toys of Japan. This is a tin car of a series they brought out called "Oldtimers", for an obvious reason. I believe this colour scheme to be No. 4 in the set.
There seems to be two types of cars in this series, ones that have a lever on the passenger side that when pulled made the car drive itself. The other type just is a push around friction type, which looks like the type you have.
Realized auctions prices seem to be in the $25-$65 dollar range.
Age on the toy is probably right about the 1955 date as the bottom of the car says. It seems this company made toys from the early 1950s until the early 1970s or so.

hope this helps!
