My father won this as a door prize in the early 50,s and gave it to my mother they had just started dating and this was his 1st gift to her. They are still in love 55 years later !!! She only wore it on special occasions so its in perfect condition. It is marked Jewelex and has a 17 jewel movement, I have tried to find out any info on this company but have come up with nothing . I imagine this must be English made as this all took place in Australia . Thankyou for any info
You may have a real gem here, try visiting this site, it shows similar watches and they are pricey. But its a very Lovely watch. And a great story behind it! :) So happy they are still in Love. http://www.thefind.com/jewelry/info-art-deco-ladies-watch
Thankyou Sassyldycandi for the link, those are beautiful watches , but mine is not gold or platinum. I dont even think its silver ,as theres no marks at all apart from whats on the face . I had a jeweller clean the inside but he knew nothing about its origin or the maker . I like to think this watch is a good love charm as it worked for my parents and Im still going strong 21 yrs with my husband :) !!
The only thing it says is Jewelex above the hands and 17 Jewels in tiny writing in a curve at the bottom .It is a tiny thing the whole face is about the size of a dime ,the back is blank and unfortunetly it looks like the clasp is fairly new . Thankyou so much for all your help. I will see if the back will come off as well
Your right ! it says 17 jewels and oh my eyes lol! I think it says INCABLOC or something really similar but really I,ll have to get a magnifiying glass tomorrow because even my glasses arn,t cutting it with this . Sorry about that .
I have one of these, well very similar, will post when I get pics to turn out that you can see, lol
