I'd say tommy was right, best condition I have seen one in, check the tail of the first "C", at the end of the tail. It should have the word "trademark" on it. If the word is there then its the original paint. the original cap catcher is hard to find in good condition. Very nice looking. good find! where did you find the embossed "w11-r" at?

Wow, these aren't easy to find in this condition!

Thanks guys for the info. I dont think the word trademark is on the first C but I will have to check it out. I do believe that it is all original. The W-11R is on the inside of the cooler on the side and I can not find anything to tell me what it means.

I just stumbled on this post and am just a few years short. I too have the W-11R and was wondering if you got an answer or were able to pull down the year and month of manufacture. Thanks

This is a few years late but The W-IIR is the date code and the W stands for Westinghouse. The “ones” are actually i’s. Westinghouse used a code that is know as “Radio Tubes”. R=1 A=2 and so on. The first letter after the W is the month which in your case is an i so that means the 4th month, April. The second letter is the first part of the year so 4 and the last letter is R so 1. So that cooler lining was made in the 4th month of 1941.
