Here is a rare example of Czech/Bohemian glass decorated in the "silhouette manner" made popular by the trained artist and social reformer Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach (b. 1851, d. 1913), who wrote and illustrated children's books in this technique, which reached its peak between 1910 and 1920.* Possibly executed by Friedrich Pietsch between 1915 and 1920. Beautifully decorated in animal and human figures with a stylized border in black enamels. The bottom is beveled and is ground flat.
