Hi, I'm from Argentina and I want to start a playing cards collection. So far I have only a few and this is one of my favorites, made by "Flaiban and Camilloni Ltda" between 1936 and 1941.

      These are beautiful!
What does "Tela de arana" mean in English?
      I'm guessing Spider's Web?
Could you post pictures of the face cards?
      Thank you for sharing!

Thank you!, your cards are beautiful too, I wish could find some older decks but where I live I don't have so many places to search (just a few antiques shops), and yes, well guess, that means spider's web. I've scanned the face of the cards, so, sure! I will post it. Greetings from Argentina.

I have my best luck finding cards at yard sales or garage sales-people just seling things from their home. I rarely see playing cards in antique shops. In fact i just went to the famous Brimfield antique Fair where there are many hundreds maybe thousands of antique dealers set up in outdoor fields. I walked around for over 3 hours and I did not see 1 dealer selling playing cards! Many interesting things but no playing cards!
Also if you have older relatives ask them if they have any playing cards put away. Many people don't think of playing cards as something that people collect, but also most people would not throw them away.
The Spider Web deck is very pretty but I am surprised that the court cards are very standard, it would have been interesting to see the spider web theme on the face cards. They are lovely with the green color on them though, somewhat unusual. Thank you for sharing! I will try to post another deck tomorrow if I have time.

You are so lucky! We don't have anything like that here (yard sales or garage sales) , most people just throw away what is not used, or keep it for life, but they never sold it! They just leave their stuffs at an antiques shops, but mostly furniture. I guess collectors do not have much future here lol. I'll try to ask to my grandmather or her sister, but I have not many expectations. I see many interesting topics on Internet, but i'm not pretty sure about it safety!
Sorry if it's not what you expected u.u but i'm glad you liked it anyway! (:
Thanks for your comment and i'll be waiting your new posts!
