Illustrated Edition (12 illustrations), in Cree syllabic ( a series of triangles etc.)
"The Pilgrim’s Progress" by John Bunyan translated into the language of the Cree Indians Published by The Religious Tract Society, London, 1886. Translated into the language of the Cree Indians in the Diocese of Moosonee by The Ven. Archdeacon Vincent, of Albany, approved, after thorough examination, by the Bishop of Moosonee.
I was told there were only 11 existing copies of this book remaining - but 9 of these are microfilm and not a "real book", and this includes the one in the British Museum. I can not find the remaining two to see if they know the value.
There were various editions of this made and this was a first edition, (in Cree). Can anyone tell me how much it is worth and where I could sell it? Thank you.
Checking to see if you sold this?
I was given a copy of Pilgrim's Progress in the Cree language in the 1975. It is in pretty good condition.
revjamescollins, Checking to see if you would consider selling your copy? Archdeacon Thomas Vincent was my mother's grandfather and i knew he had translated this but would love to have a copy.
