I am assuming this is a coffee pot based on its height and shape. This was in the same $10.00 box lot as my previous piece it is marked on the bottom with a set of scales and is marked Middletown Plate Co triple plate . Middletown was est in 1864-1876 . I was wondering if anyone had an idea about what this type of decoration is called based on the decorations and engraving ??? It has a bird or phoenix holding up the spout and a band of birds and foliage around the middle . This poor pot has seen better days at one time the spout has come off and someone did the most hideous souldering job getting it back on its also missing the finial off the top . I was wondering if this would be worth having repaired properly or if it would cost more than its worth ?? Thankyou for any info offered

Would this type of decoration be considered "aesthetic" or victorian ??

Aesthetic Movement obtained towards the end of the Victorian era.

In my opinion, it would be more proper to describe this as Aesthetic Movement.
