Here is a bowl that I purchased about 20 years ago. Sold to me as, " Genuine Loetz Guarenteed!"
I believe this bowl is Rindskopf, but please correct me if I'm wrong. It has red base glass, and measures about 10 inches square by 4 1/2 inches tall. The colors on the edges are best described as "Butterfly-wing iridescent". ..Electric, knock-your-socks-off, iridescent! Too bad that someone removed the proper base/pedistal. I'm still looking for a proper replacement.
I had one similar years ago. Wire type of construction with lily pad decoration and a similarly decorated mirror above it. My glass bowl had a blue base rather than red. The bottom was really deeply cut to fit the wire frame.
Still a beautiful piece!
Loetz or not that is a piece I'd be proud to own!!!!!!!!
Rindskopf 100%. Very nice.
I would remove the wood (?) base if you can and let it rest on the flat bottom.
Or go to eBay and search : Art Nouveau metal holder/base. You might just find the right looking base.
Thanks to All for the comments! I did buy one base through ebay, but it was brass, and I thought it didn't look quite right. Also, the attaching screw was a larger size than what was already drilled though the bowl. I really didn't want to take a chance on re-drilling ! ... Guess I will try again. Vetraio50, I don't think a wire form would work on this piece. Wish you had a pic of your piece!
The Colors are Excellent!
I'm sure I saw it in a Hosch catalogue.
I just can't find the page again in my photos.
