You have a large fruit bowl that is iridescent glass, color is 'Flora Gold', and the pattern is 'Iris' (AKA: 'Iris & Herringbone') by Jeannette Glass, ca.1960s. This is sometimes called marigold carnival glass by collectors.
Thank you very much for the wealth of information.
So I am assuming these are pretty common and therefore not really valuable and I should not feel guilty for using it for my arts and craft which entitle drilling a hole /bolt through the middle of it? no offense intended, an honest question, because if it is something special then of course I would want to keep it intact.
Thanks
Katherine

Katherine, Jeannette starting making making their Iris pattern in iridescent glass in the 1950s. Floragold is another pattern (rather than a color) put out by Jeannette glass company that some collectors call "Louisa" due to its similarity with an old Westmoreland carnival pattern that early collectors dubbed "Louisa".
These iridecent Iris bowls are rather common and don't sell for very much, so I say enjoy it, whatever you decide to do with it.
Well, as a token of my appreciation for your generosity in sharing your knowledge with me... if everything goes well and my diamond drill bit does not shatters this glass ( once I get better from the flu :( ) I will make either a flower or a bird feeder out of this bowl and post a pic on this same post for you to enjoy :D
Thanks
