This is a Civil War era CDV of a well dressed man who was born with one leg significantly shorter than the other. His right leg is about 6- 8 inches shorter than his left. He wears a shoe and has metal stand attached to the shoe and makes up for the short leg. He also has a thin cane to help him keep his balance.
The CDV was photographed byMorris of the Union Picture Gallery of Auburn, New York.

Great shot!!!!
Great Belter chair as well [i think]!
Thanks again cultcha.
I would think a lesser maker-- of course to me it is always the back of the chair that gives it away.
