I am really trying to figure out anything I can about this lamp. It has been in my collection for some time. It seems to be hand blown and has "yuksel" on the bottom of it. Can anyone tell me anything about it or what it may be worth? I would appreciate it.
Can you take a picture of the marks on the botom and give dimensions? Widthe of the base, widthe of the bottom of the chimney, hight etc.
Hi. I have just bought a virtually identical lamp. Difference: is marked 'Pasabahce Istanbul' on the bottom of the well. The wick adjuster wheel is marked Yüksel * TM *. The circular 'gully' in 'my' oilwell is for a clamp supporting a reflector structure. According to info on Wikipedia Pasabahce was a village once, situated on the Bosporus in the Beykoz Ilce district of Istanbul Province. In the 19th century there were already active glassware and porcelain worksshops, but glass production really took off in 1935 when the Pasabahce Glass Plant (state factory) started production. I am trying to date my lamp: is it pre- or post 1935? Googling Yüksel burner drew a blank. Yüksel is a boys name and proberbly irrelevent in this context. To be continued?
