I have a 1956 steib bmw s250 would like to know what its worth and how many there are.It has been in storage for 30 years original condition.Original paint on sidecar but the fender was repainted and maybe the frame.I have been told these models are a short run and very few in the states and very few people know there true value because they are never sold. thanks mark 517 886-2114

You can buy a brand new Steib S500 for $6850US.
I suspect this is worth about $3000US, it is for the smaller 250 BMW range.

You are correct that they are rare here. Its my understand that these were a limited run as they were stamped from a single peice of aluminum which was more costly then stamping out sheets of aluminum and welding them together.

I thougbt The steibs you can buy now are "steib" in name only and the tooling was moved to Poland. So the new "Steibs" for 6500k are not German anymore.

These are for smaller cc bikes (250's) but can be fitted to an bmw r51 r50 or nsu konsul 500 without any major issues.

I think you could do better then $3k if you found the right person who knows about them. These things are gold in Europe (at least when i was looking for a old steib or pre war stoye, royal , austro-omega side cars recently.

Hope you put it on a 50' airheads and enjoyed it!
