This Beer stein belonged to my mother, who worked as a teacher in austria, but born in Soldein where all her family were killed. She met my father during the war and came to england. She passed away aged 32 so have no way of asking about the two steins that I have. This one is porcelaine I assume, it has like a mother of pearl glaze and the picture is "sruss aus Trostburg" It has a lithophane of two men and a woman sitting at a wooden table. I cannot find any name etc. I am 63 so the steins must be a good age.
Any information would be greatfully recieved.
    Ingrid.

The text is Gruss aus Trostburg or Greetings from Trostburg. It is a city in Bavaria. Most porcelain steins are not marked so it is impossible to tell when and where it was made. Visit http://www.steincollectors.org to learn more about antique German beer steins.
