Does anyone have any information on this reel? I haven't been able to find a whole lot on the internet, other than the reel was made by Magic Fishing Reel Company in Denver, Colorado, in the early 50s, and a red-velvet, draw string pouch came with it. The reel could be used for spinning, fly casting, bait casting and trolling. I am willing to pay for a copy of the instructions if someone cares to share this information. I thank you in advance for anything on this reel.

I am going to read about this on line. I am wondering if my Dad might have
had one of these reels. I'll be checking on what there might be at home.

The first patent on which the “Magic” reel was based was granted to
Jacob M. Goldberg, of Denver, Colo., on October
16, 1951 (Pat. no. 2,571,440). Goldberg received at
least three more patents for his reel, which was
manufactured by the Magic Fishing Reel Co., a
subsidiary of Goldberg Brothers Manufacturing Co.,
      Denver.

Hello George, Worth is whatever the buyer wants to spend, I always say. Have watched them go for $50 to $70 on eBay. Yes, slim-pickens for information on the internet. A reel as this you would think there would be tons of information. Very little information tells me the reel has some worth. Some say I paid to much for mine, I say I did alright. By chance do you have the box and papers that go with your reel? I just searched eBay for this reel and one will be sold on Nov 30, at 7:01 PST. No luck from me George but still the old reels are fun for me to collect.
