Cruisin’ for Our Heroes, Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, Lutherville, MD
Over 250 visitors, collectors and exhibitors, joined the Baltimore County Sheriff’s Office and the Fire Museum of Maryland in a tribute to the County Fire, Police, EMS, and Military Personnel, September 11th.
Antique fire engines, police vehicles, EMS vehicles, cars, trucks, and motorcycles, literally flooded the parking lot of the Fire Museum. There were activities for the kids, fire engine rides and demonstrations with engines shooting hundreds of gallons of water in streams across the parking lot.
In addition, the Swap Meet was a success where people brought sold and traded antique vehicle parts, and emergency service memorabilia, Chocolate Chip Dalmatian Rescue showed off four of their coach dogs. Inside there were 40 antique fire engines and and a reconstructed 1870’s Baltimore Fire House visitors could walk through. Also inside were tables of model fire apparatus and antique vehicles.

The Fire Museum of Maryland is located at 1301 York Road, Lutherville, MD, one block north of the Baltimore Beltway, Exit 26B. It is open 10 - 4 pm, on Saturdays, May - December, and Wednesday - Sunday, June through August.
