This vase was a wedding gift to my grandmother. All I know is that it is from Lustre Art Glass Company - which was in business from 1920 - 1925.

LYNN : THE SIGNATURE IS DIFFERENT THAN I HAVE SEEN. USUALLY IT JUST READS "LUSTRE ART". BUT THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONAL PIECE SO MAYBE THEY USED A FULL NAME. LUSTRE ART WAS AN OFF SHOOT FROM QUEZAL ART GLASS CO. THEY COPIED QUEZAL DESIGNS. LOOK AT MY GREEN QUEZAL VASE I POSTED A FEW DAYS AGO. LOOK FAMILIAR ? YOU HAVE A REAL BEAUTY HERE.

I saw your green Quezal and was amazed at how similar they are! You have some stunning pieces. Do you think Lustre Art is not as valuable since it is an offshoot/copy of Quezal?

Lynn, Yes, the Lustre Art would be less valuable.........just because of the name. It makes no sense. Take Tiffany and Trevaise. The pieces were made by the same men. The Tiffany vase might be $6500. and the Trevaise $2500. You know how we Americans like those designer labels !!!

Hello, your Lustre Art Glass vase is very nice and it is also rare. The vase was made by the gaffer Conrad Valshing. He was employed at Quezal Art Glass and Decorating Company and had a falling out with the owner, Martin Bach, Sr. He left to create the Lustre Art Glass Company, in business from about 1920 to 1925, as I recall. LoetzBuddies is correct that the signatures can vary. I have seen examples signed: LUSTRE ART, LUSTRE ART STUDIOS and yours LUSTRE ART GLASS CO.; your signature appears to be correct. Your photos do not show the interior, however, I would guess that it is fumed an iridescent gold. Again, LoetzBuddies is correct that the value placed on Lustre Art is less, however, yours is a very nice example and it is signed, hopefully, it is in mint condition with no excessive ware, damage or restoration which will add to it's value. Unsigned examples are mistaken for QUEZAL all the time. I hope this is of some assistance.

and I hope she's not letting flowers sit in water in that vase long enough to dry out like that.... :)
