I found this great dark green glass decanter with 4 glasses. There is an inscription on the top of the stopper that reads "Fra Firkloveret paa Hop" 31 -5- 1930. I believe it means (used Google Translate) from Three Clovers in Hop. I believe that to be from Hop in Norway.
The decanter is three sided with applied pewter decoration and four glasses. It stands 8 inches high without the stopper, and about 4 1/2 inches wide. The glasses are about 3 1/2 inches tall. I didn't find any mark, other than the inscription. I'd love to know more about it if anyone has any info??
Think I should replace the cork?
Thanks for looking!
Your lovely decanter and the glasses are Danish - see this post: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/104026-vintage-holmegaard-denmark
The inscription reads 'From the foursome at Hop', so presumably it was a gift from four friends or a family of four. I don't know what 'Hop' refers to - it must be a place, a house, or a farm they all knew...
