I see lots of Western Electric phones on the net but have never been able to find another one that looks quite like this. Most others the case with the workings inside is much bigger. Also this one does not have a crank. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks
    Jim

Your Western Electric local battery set was manufactured in 1908. The top box is model #1293A on a #132A backboard. This wall telephone did not accommodate a battery box, you had to order a A-1 metal battery box and two dry cell batteries.
