I found this in a local antique shop and need help identifying it. I was wondering if the imprint "original king 4" on the bottom means it is an original King Werk stein. I have seen some steins with blue stickers on the bottom and wasn't sure if it needs a sticker to be a King Werk stein. My husband started collecting steins about a year ago and I thought this would be a good christmas present. im just hoping my purchase was a good one because I know nothing about beer steins at all. Around the stein it says "Jager's Freud Die Grune Heid". I have looked everywhere online and haven't found this exact one. I have found one that is the same picture exactly, but it has more colors on it, while mine has only two colors on it (black and light brown). PLEASE HELP! thanks in advance!

We were wondering if you ever found anything out on this stein. We too came across one and we are not sure what it is either. The only differnce is their is a partial stamp but cannot be read. Has the 949 7/2L also. All the other ones we have seen are colored. Hopefully you can shed some light on this for us. Thanks for you time and attention. Sue

"Hunter's Joy the Green Heath" Yes, you have purchased a King Werks stein - based on the mark, I would say it is vintage from the 1950's
