Another tin off Gramps chicken coop. Does anyone know the history behind orange crush. Was it nation wide, or just midwest? I'm really new at this, but love signs. Even though they are quite beat up:) Scored 23 of the Crush #1127's out of the chicken house.

LOL, good "O" Tommy! I agree with him though, great finds indeed. The second bottle sign is from the late 50s to early 60s, the first is a mid 40s to early 50s sign. The history of OC started with Mr. Ward (who was a chemist) creating the drink in a lab in Los Angeles, back in the teens I believe. In fact the earlier signage had his name on them. Example, Ward's Lime Crush, Ward's Lemon Crush and orange too. His name was dropped from the advertising around the mid 20s at some point. While he created the flavors, the bottling was done initially in Chicago. They used to use real orange juice in the beginning. Both signs are hard to give price values on, it really depends on who's selling it and who's looking to buy it. I would say from $100 to $200 for each.

Obviously if the signs are bigger, they bring more.

Singaholic, thanks for the input on the OC history. And you said you were no expert:)

Thank tommy1002. I can give you directions to the chicken coop, but there's not much left except old chicken $@&# :)
