This old wooden Telechron mantel clock belonged to my grandparents. It is about 6.5 inches tall. At the bottom of the clock face is printed "Warren Telechron Co. Ashland, Mass." On the back of the clock is a metal plate with the model number "3F55" engraved. The space for the serial number is blank. On the bottom of the clock is stamped "Pat. Des. 91240." Also, written in pencil on the bottom of the clock is "12/21/35," which I would guess is the date my grandparents bought it. The electric cord is broken and seems to be covered in fabric. I think the clock would work if the electric cord were replaced. I wonder if it really is from the 1930s, or whether it is older. Should I bother replacing the cord, or is the clock not worth it? Thanks!

      Hi Ks1,
The model name for your clock is the "Newberry," made between 1933-36. Looks to be in pretty good shape. Definitely worth replacing the cord on it - that's easy. Here's a little more info: http://telechron.net/goldenage/3f55.htm
