Dirty, definitely needs a good cleanup! I'm not certain of the exact age, but I'm quite sure it's '50s or prior. The handle is wood. Both original Pyrex bowls are perfect, which is surprising to me since the mixer is so rough. I'll clean it up and see if it runs!
Very cool! I have one almost identical.Mine has a black"plastic" handle and black cord.
Thank you Hedgewalker!
Yours is late 1930's, early 1940's. Use MAAS metal cleaner and it will look almost new. I just restored a late 1930's Sunbeam Mixmaster Automatic Mix-Finder Bullet, and did it all with MAAS.
Go to my listed items and you will see a before and after resto of a 1925 Club Electric Waffle Mould No. 07 I did with MAAS.
Thanks packrat-place, I'll give that a try. ThritStoreLover, this was in a box full of stuff I bought at an auction for $3 I believe.
You did very well!! Great find. I well spent $3.00
I have one exactly like this. My suspicion is that this mixer does not have the original handle on top. The wood seems off and I have never seen one like that before. Have any of you?
Thanks for the tip on the metal cleaner. Mine is pretty dirty too and the cord is cracking. Also, the motor can smell at times so I now reserve it just for light duty jobs. Anyone know of someone who works on these motors or who might attempt to replace it for me?
P.S. Black "plastic" handle referred to by another poster is Bakelite. :)
