My antique toy fire engine collection is just under 200 items, including Fire Houses, Fire Boats, helicopters, fire fighting planes, steamers, pumpers, snorkels, hook and ladders, British Fire Engines, and specialized trucks-command trucks, search and rescue, and brush fire fighting vehicles. There are also ambulances and Police cars.
The toys date back to the late 1920's (as far as date of manufacture) and span the 20th century. Some of the toys come from the famous Tootsietoy company, but also come from Midgetoy, Husky, Matchbox, Yat Ming, and more.
I just finished a very detailed catalogue of the items and in the next few weeks, I will be donating the collection to the Houston Fire Museum.
