This Coro Duette has the richest deepest color of Auqa Oval rhinestones and clear Chaton rhinestones, there are none that are dim, they just look dim in the photo's. Even the end V shape is filled with stones. All the pieces are signed. Signed: Coro Duette, DES Pat PEND , Pat No. 1198867, and Coro . The large stones are open back foiled stones, which I think help produce that wonderful color. It looks like gold plated metal, and there is no damage or wear to any pieces of this great 1940's Coro Duette.
What was the purpose the stone mounted sections coming off the base? Did they make different top mounts for the base, maybe as an interchangeable thing?! As you can tell, I'm new to learning about this wonderful old era of Jewelry!
The Duette was to be worn as brooch when on the base, and 2 dress clips when off.
Oh, How wonderful! thanks vintagemad!
