    I'm not sure what these are made of, just plastic I guess. They were very dirty when I found them in a drawer in an old shop, but they cleaned up OK. What's unusual is I'm pretty sure they aren't any prescription. They are marked "AO" and I don't know what that means. Any info is appreciated! Thanks.

      What I have been able to gather since I posted these glasses is that they are 1950's American Optical frames. If anybody knows anything else about these, let me know!

      Here is an identical pair that was for sale in Illinois in July of this year for $85. Not sure what came of that pair, but since I got mine for... free...

      They remind me of some of the safety glasses I have found, but usually you will find them with small side screens. Just a thought.

      "AO" is probably the markings for American Optical. They made glasses, goggles etc....
