It is probably Middle Eastern in origin-- the blade and hilt are both serial numbered with "19977".

It’s a Persian cavalry sword, and this type was used around the 1920s. I don’t know how much earlier or later than that it was used, but it was in use then. The Persians actually copied it directly from the Imperial Russian Model 1881 Dragoon saber, and the main reason I know it’s Persian and not Russian is because of the Arabic numbers.
Persian Islamic calvary sword; real nice piece for middle eastern collectors. Your sword was made by the Russian Imperia for Persia. Called a Russian Imperial Persian Cossack Calvery Military Sword Sabre. The Persians purchased the swords from Russia. Nice high value sabre for the collector. The Persian's did not copy this sword but the Chinese do.
someone offered me 150.00 for it, i think I will keep it for a long time
I think it is worth more than that too.

where can i get a price on this
Do some searches based off of the information provided.
Ebay may have some. Look for completed auctions. Folks can ask any price for an item and auctions can post any estimate, but actual completed sales will give you a good idea of current market value.
I don't mess too much with NON- US items, so my knowledge is limited.

thank you
Nice information Papa - I shouldn't have assumed the Persians made it themselves. Do you know when this sword started being used, and if it was only by the Persian Cavalry Brigade?
Tsars Arsenal date sword styles with photos, http://tsarsarsenal.com/long_w.htm
I meant the Persian Cossack Cavalry Brigade
Someone offered $150.00 for it? Only if it is a Chinese copy!
yes 150.00 , all i know for sure about it is its at least 30 years old, but i will not take 150.00
It is a 1891 model Imperial Russian Dragoons Saber.

Papa has a lot more knowledge than I do I do have a small amount, I did notice that the numbers on the blade match with the guard. Even though the groove in thr blad is called a blood groove it is really for oxygen to make it for doing it's job. Yes I do love it. If it has any notches on the blade edge it usually stand for the amount of kills. If it works the same way as Malasia.
