My Mother gave me this guitar years ago which she had as a teenager in the 1940's. I have a photo of her and a friend dress in western gear,Mom holding her guitar and her friend a fiddle. Both looking like they are having the time of their lives. I just wish I had learned to play the guitar before Mon passed.

Here's a little bit of info about the history of Regal guitars: http://www.jagshouse.com/music/regal.html

It looks like you have a fine guitar here, but as in any instrument, the proof is in the sound. You might want to have it looked at by a professional to evaluate the sound quality and action. It would be a wonderful treasure to keep in the family. Is there anyone else who can play? You might display it with a nicely framed photo of your mom holding the guitar!

Thanks for the info. I did have new srtings put on it shortly after my Mom gave it to me,the guy that did it played it abit but never really said anything about it. Noboby else in the family plays, but I hope my daughter who's 7 might take a interest in it. She like me to take it out and just strum on it.

We bought an Old Regal Blonde archtop at an auction several years ago, probably around the same era as this on. We took pictures and sent them to Gruen Guitars in Nashville with an agreement that he would return the orig pictures with an appraisal. We had to include the envelope and pay the return shipping, n howeverit was very instrumental to us being able to resale it as it was 'not our style' of guitar.. just seemed to be too good to pass up! You might look into checking with them.. probably have to look it up online, our paperwork is long lost in files somewhere!

If your Daughter happens to love music, she will let you know if you set her up a lesson with a reputable Guitar teacher. It will be very worthwhile to know she can have plenty of memories thru her Guitar of her Grandmother. With your Mothers Love for music, she may have it too. A small investment for such a Musical life.
