This is a deck from Russell Playing Card Company "Smart Set" line titled "The New York Girl".
I am unable to pinpoint the date. This ace first appeared in 1917 and was used throughout the 1920's and into the 1930's.
I love that the edges are still shiny gold and the joker is rather elegant as well.
I also have another Smart Set deck titled "Sweethearts".

That's beautiful!, I love the dancing couple, the woman in the back, the shiny edges, everything!. Can I ask you something? How many decks you have so far? ..Thanks for sharing!

Thanks! I posted these because I think the couple on the joker is friends with the couple on your Tango deck!

I have a little less than 100 decks, about 20 that I think are really special. I was very lucky and found almost every one of my decks at a single yard sale just a few houses down the street from mine. Someone was getting rid of an entire collection that belonged to their father, several hundred decks but many in poor condition. They were very cheap because the seller just wanted to get rid of them..so I picked out whatever happened to catch my eye. At first I just wanted to sell them on ebay to make some $, but the more research I do, the more I enjoy them and so will probably keep most of them.

Lol, yeah, maybe you are right...music is an universal lenguage after all, right?

I think some people just see this kind of things as old garbage (I have big examples in home), but I feel that if this decks (or any antique) were preserve for so many years was becouse someone cared of them, and I'm glad to continue the job...and like you said, if the crisis knocks my door again, I always can sell them. I hope to see some other of your decks!. For my part there is not much more to show for now, I just have two spanish cards decks more, from the 70'... and that's all my "collection" lol
