This is a 1924 7 drawer singer sewing machine. We picked it up at an antique mall. It came with the original owners manual and the hardware above. It is in great shape and everything works great. No sign of rust. The only problem is the leather belt has broken. Where would we get a replacement one or what do we use instead?

Thanks for the comment Lundy, not sure about value. depends on age/model and collectibility. I am really not an expert on sewing machines. My wife wanted it and we got it. She loves sewing/crafts.

You can order leather belts for the treadle machines off the internet . Also most sewing machine stores or shops carry the leather belts .
    4. trgrubaugh trgrubaugh, 13 years ago
Thanks Nancy. Is it a good idea to keep the original belt to maintain value of it as a whole?
    5. Nancy Salisbury, 13 years ago
trgrubaugh : The original belt does not add any value to your machine . They wear out and are no longer of any use or value . I just throw the olds ones away .

Nice 66 treadle, you should easily find a belt online. You might pay too much if you buy one from a shop. Research both and see.

trgrubaugh : Around here the belts are the same price at the shops as you can get them off the internet and you do not have to pay postage .

You've got a nice looking machine.
I started collecting and refurbishing Singer Treadles about 6 months ago.
The first one I did was a 1910 model 66 Redeye. I've since picked up a 1909 model 66, a 1919 machine head pnly, a 1949 electric and just yesterday a friend of mine picked up a White Rotary treadle...don't know how old she is yet.
I imangine by now you have gotten all the kinks out and are able to really enjoy your machines beauty and it's ability.
