    This carte de visite is dated and identified on the back.

    The boys ages 6 and 4 were photographed on 1 AUG 1867.

    The blocks to spell out names is ingenious and the pull toy horse just adds to the character of the scene.

      This CDV is beyond exceptional. You said it best that the use of blocks to spell out the names is "ingenious."

      I think what I love even more is that the pull toy horse is named BOB, which is a story in itself.

      All I can say is WOW!
