Great, old Tootsie toy Gasoline tanker trucks. Had to have them because there were 2 together, and they are in surprisingly good shape! They are both 4" long, and it appears both are completely original.

I've learned that it is best to admit when you are wrong, and I was completely wrong about these 2 trucks. They were made by Renwal, not Tootsie. It looks like they are '40s or '50s, but I still can't figure out which. I gather that they were manufactured for more than a few years, so they could be anywhere from 1940 to the mid-1950's. Sorry about being incorrect in the first place...

Well that answers a lot of mystery for me there. I thought that most Tootsie toys were made of metal mainly but I could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure they all were, which is why I got to looking. Especially after you mentioned that those 2 trucks in your post were Renwal, it made me think that these plastic vehicles probably were also. I found several varieties of these on a couple of other websites, and they are definitely Renwal. So I should extend some thanks to Perry for making me think to check further on these!
