These are from my great Aunt's house. There's two of them, both broken, but this is the better of the 2. Only the handle is broken off and in half. The last pic is the handle. I think the top is a lid and lifts off at the wide part.
My mom thinks they are alabaster. I don't know and don't know how to tell. When I tap the two pieces of the handle together it almost makes a "clink" noise.
They're stained, mostly from cigarettes and pipe, I think, and have been glued together, badly.
The story is that an Irish miner stayed with my great-grandmother and grand father for a while and payed for it with the urns he had brought from Ireland. They would be over 100 years old.
