I love the colors on this bag! So rich and vibrant, this bag tells a story! Inside has a Delill mark and seems to be in perfect shape. Based on info found on the company, this appears to date between 1941 and 1955, but I cannot pin it down any further.
Thanks wolcott1, BeauxPurdy and FineLines for the likes and loves :)
Great old bag, thriftman! Did you know that the design is a "Colonial Couple" pattern? The pattern is a commercial design put mainly on china, but also figurines, lamps, and art pottery. I researched a plate that I posted over 6 mos. ago and found the information. There are numerous colonial couple china pieces, lamps, and figurines on ebay. I also saw a couple of needlepoints, but no handbags. I did find a tapestry purse sold on Ruby Lane which was made by JR Miami USA. http://www.rubylane.com/shop/grandmothers-trunk/ilist/,c=Vintage_Jr_Miami_Purse,cs=Vintage+Collectibles:Purse:Jr+Miami.html
Your handbag is much nicer, however!
Thanks officialfuel for the like and thanks to marcobabe13 for the love and information!
