These appear hand-painted in a manner and style to some family pieces I have, right down to the floral themes and gold trim. This was a popular hobby among ladies around the turn of the 20th century, peaking around 1890-1910. Some great-aunts of mine and my grandmother participated in painting the ones I have. My niece wrote a comprehensive college paper on the subject. Yours were most likely "blanks" before painting.
Thanks. I am not sure if they were hand painted or not, but I am very curious as to the markings on the bottom, and what name the name of the pattern is, especially on the Johnson Brothers pieces, that appears to have been made in England. I am cleaning out and getting rid of stuff but this caught my attention, as thy appear old.
