I just picked this up at a Michael's Jewelers vintage jewelry sale. It's opal with a very Art Deco look. The inside says T F and then Sterling. It would certainly has the Fahrner look, but I'm just not sure. Anyone have an opinion? I absolutely love it, whatever it is.
This piece is made by Thomas Francisco, and is very current.
I think this is one of Theodor Fahrner's works. Lovely bracelet.
Thanks JulBel, but it turns out that it was made by a Thomas Francisco, a Native American artist. The Vintage Jewelry person who bought the thing in the first place finally told me. It was very nice, but Michaels Jewelers was selling as genuine opal. After much research and asking Native American jewelry distributors, I'm convinced that it's Gilson opal, which every Native American artist uses. It looks exactly like the opal in all the Native American jewelry websites. It's lovely, but I truly resent Michaels selling me something that's synthetic, especially after all the snippy replies I've gotten from their Vintage Jewlery buyer. So, I returned it and got my money back. Ask me if I'll ever shop at Michael's again? Not in a million years, and I'll tell everyone I know what jerks they are besides.
Hello Julbel! Bracelet is beautiful! DO you know much about Theodor Fahrner pieces? I am sure I have one but can't date it. Check it out on my page and let me know!
Definitely not Fahrner, its a Native American piece, absolutely positively
Oh whoops, you already figured that out :P
