I am at a complete loss! Please help me with my search. I have a 5" bisque head and torso, seperate limbs, no top of head, hazel glass eyes (wide) dimple on chin, navel, mark on back of head is 1845, arms are marked 1845, legs are also 1845, no piereced ears, painted shoes with heals, knee socks, mouth closed, pink, hand painted eye lashes and brow, light rosy cheeks. Doll had hand stiched clothes, knickers, slip, large lace petitcoat, etc. If anyone has a clue about this doll, please let me know I was fortunate enough to have rescued this little beauty from a box headed for the trash. Some people just think, "Oh, it's old, it's junk." unbelievable! Thanks for any help you can give in identifying this little girl.
Your little Glass eyes closed mouth all bisque doll is what is called a French type . She is precious and maybe a SFBJ doll . Very collectable and I am glad you saved her . Dates from about 1880-1900 . Super find !
She would be worth more if her neck swiveled . Hopefully her clothes were saved .Her wig is sparce and also could be high quality German doll. If you were going to sell her you would list her as a All bisque doll size ect. At auction she would bring what collectors of little doll house or cabinet dolls would pay . Prices have fallen alot . Does she have any symbol on back of neck or under hair like any letters ?
