Acquired this vintage Hy Moser watch at recent NAWCC show in Del Mar.
Looks like about 1920's design; very large for art deco stylings. Dial has a great patina, so looks original. Watch with pin setting (means crown doesnt pull out to set)--runs great...seems to have a rose gold plating over casing, but can only tell from the inside. Bears Hy Moser logo on the inside movement, but very hard to photograph.
Crystal very large and thick--seems original, as it is so thick and angle cut. Bottom of 4th pic shows thickness/cut of crystal.
Any other information about this brand or model? I read that it was a very popular manufacturer before 1900...
One site says that the earlier version of the company died out in 1923.
The name was later bought out and there is a firm today using the H Moser name.
The earlier branch had links to Russia after the revolution and the eastern block . I got some problems with one site that sent me messages that my computer blocked. So, be careful.
Thanks for the info...I read about that as well, that it was a big watch producer in Russia, up to the revolution...out of business by the early 1920's, The brand was "re-born" in 2002 by Shaffhausen.
Looks like Frank Muller might have taken his idea for his "Crazy Time" watch dial design form this dial. This is a real beauty!
