Good Morning Everybody,
Here is an item I purchased a while back at an antique mall. The seller told me that it was a match box cover. It measures approximately 2" in length and 1" in width; about the size of a small match box. It appears to be made out of brass, with enamel covering the outside. There is also a round piece of Jade on the top with an oriental design. I really enjoy collecting vintage oriental items that are unusual also. It looks like it was bent at some point, and never straightened out. I really liked it because of the colors, pattern and Jade insert. I am wondering if anyone has ever seen one of these before, and if anyone knows if it is an actual match box cover. Thanks for looking. Thrifty Gypsy

Nice !! The jade and enamel compliment each other very gracefully. Beautiful piece Thrifty !!
Thanks Hedgewalker for the compliments ! Glad you liked it !
Thanks BeauxPurdy for the information. I really did not know if it was an actual match box holder or not. That confirms that they definitely made them ! Probably added a little glamour to a plain box of matches. T.G.
